According to
a Horry County press release dated January 7, 2004, The
number of passengers traveling through the Myrtle Beach
International Airport is on the rise. The number of
departures and arrivals compared with 2002 has been
steadily rising since June. Total passengers traveling
through the airport was 1.33 million this year compared
with 1.26 million in 2002.
Additional airlines that began service at MYR in the
year 2003. Hooters Air has brought more than 35,000
passengers through the airport since their inaugural
flight in March. Northwest Airlines began service in
April and has boarded 35,000 total passengers to date.
Delta Airlines began service in July and has boarded
21,098 total passengers for the year. Pan American
Airlines boarded 1025 since beginning service in
October. |

direct flights to Cincinnati and weekend flights to
Chicago. Atlantic Southeast is direct to Atlanta
Continental Airlines
has begun a new nonstop service linking its hub at
Cleveland Hopkins International Airport with Myrtle
Beach, S.C. and Birmingham, Ala.
Hooters Air
Atlanta,
Baltimore, Columbus, Myrtle Beach, Ft. Myers, Nassau,
Newark. Beginning June 10, 2004, service between Myrtle
Beach and Gary, Indiana. NEW additions! Service
expansion from the Greater Rockford (Ill.) Airport on
Jan. 31, 2005, and from Pittsburgh on Feb. 10,
2005. Service between Myrtle Beach and Rockford will
be on Mondays, Thursdays and Sundays.

NY City, Baltimore, Myrtle Beach.
Spirit
Direct flights
between Atlantic City, Detroit, LaGuardia/Newark. Daily
non-stop service to Washington-Regan International
Airport. NEW: Expanded service between Myrtle Beach and
LaGuardia beginning Feb. 10 2005 (in addition to
existing daily flights.) The carrier will also resume
nonstop flights between Myrtle Beach and Detroit, Visit

United Airlines
Coming
February, 2005:
United Airlines will start flying from Myrtle Beach to
Chicago and Washington, D.C., in February, bringing one
of the largest airlines to the beach and opening up new
tourism markets. United Express carrier Air Wisconsin
will introduce regional jet service to Myrtle Beach with
two daily flights from Chicago O'Hare and four daily
flights from Washington Dulles. These flights will begin
Feb. 15, 2005.
