The Department of Airports is an agency of Horry County and receives its funding for operations and maintenance of County airports through user fees and charges on aeronautical activities at the airport. No County general fund taxes are used to support the airports. Partial funding for most major capital improvements is obtained through the Federal Aviation Administration and from South Carolina Division of Aeronautics. The Department is the largest airport system in the state, with four airports located throughout the County.

Myrtle Beach International Airport (MYR)

The scheduled commercial service airport for Horry County and the Grand Strand is conveniently located in the south end of the City of Myrtle Beach, minutes from the 60 mile stretch of magnificent beach, glistening ocean, numerous golf courses and other regional attractions.

Conway-Horry County Airport (HWY)

Located on Hwy 378, five miles west of the County seat of Conway, this airport serves general aviation aircraft with parking, refueling, and maintenance. It is the home of the North American Institute of Aviation (NAIA), one of the finest aviation schools in the nation offering complete training in avionics, airframe/powerplant and flight training to secure FAA private, commercial and ATP licenses. NAIA also provides complete FBO services and can be reached at 843-397-9111.

Grand Strand Airport (CRE)

Located in the City of North Myrtle Beach between Highway 17 Business and the Intercoastal Waterway, this airport serves private and corporate aircraft with parking, refueling, and maintenance. Loris-Twin Cities Airport

Located on Hwy 301, two miles northeast of Loris, is an unattended, public use airport.
